TRAVEL DAY - PRAGUE

NO SPEED LIMIT
Between Apple Maps and our car dashboard, we know the speed limit at all times. It shows up as number inside a red circle. So far, the max motorway speeds are 130/kph (~81/mph) but not on the in Germany. In some places, there is no speed limit and instead of a number in that little red circle, it's just a dash! In Europe, as a rule, drivers are good about keeping to the right, except when passing a slower car. On the motorways in Germany (we were on the 5 & 6) we took from Strasbourg to Prague there are a lot of trucks. I mean, a serious amount of trucks. So sometimes you have to stay left for a little longer to get past all the trucks that are only going 80/90kph. But when a car behind might be cruising at 200kph (125/mph), you really have to keep an eye on your rear view mirror because they creep up on you really fast!! To be fair, most drivers are sticking around 130/140 and I only goosed it to 160/kph once, that around 100/mph.
We had to get an early start as the drive from Strasbourg to Prague was over 6 hours. It's the longest stretch of this trip but we wanted to arrive with time to grab dinner. As luck (or skill) would have it, I managed a parking spot right in front of the hotel even though parking in the area on these narrow cobblestone streets is extremely limited! I never pick the fastest queueing line, but parking? No problem!

The hotel couldn't be in a better location to enjoy the old town and new town areas of the city. So tonight we'll just eat, relax from the long drive and hit the streets first thing in the morning. Also looking forward to meeting up with Lorenzo and his wife who are coincidentally also on a month long trip to many of the same cities.
